Happy New Year to You All

We hope you have lots of good things planned for 2012 and that the date of the next Games of 2nd June 2012 is now firmly in your diary.  We are looking forward to an even bigger and better games for 2012.  Just before Christmas we got the excellent news that we will be hosting yet another Championship for the Scottish Highland Games Association.  We have been given the Scottish 800m Championships, .  This will be as well as the 90m British Championships and the Scottish 200m Championships.

Also, we are extremely pleased that we are going to be back at the grounds of Helensburgh Rugby Football Club as the venue for this year's Games.   We have been working with them over the winter to ensure that the Games will be the best yet, with easy access to the grounds and the events.  We would like to thank them for their support.

The 2011 ' Friendly' Games were again blessed with dry weather once again and a bumper crowd which was again up on the proceeding year, a record amount of athletes againtook part and, we again added the Local Novice Heavy competition to the Youth and Open competitions, had the 90m open scratch British Championship, 200mt Scottish Scratch and the 22lb Scottish Shot Putt Championship as well as 63 stalls. There were lots of childrens entertainment which included climbing wall, bouncy castle, giant slide, puppeteer, coconut shy, paint ball, football, and many other great fun events which included the whole family.

The organisers were delighted to see the thousands of spectators enjoy the huge variety of events the games had to offer.
